ACI Jet, a world-class FBO providing corporate aircraft management, charter, maintenance and ground handling services has announced it will formally pursue IS-BAH certification for all of its FBO locations, beginning with its FBO in San Luis Obispo. Created through a partnership between the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) and the National Air Transport Association, (NATA), IS-BAH is “the global industry standard for handlers and FBOs,” and is designed to meet the coming SMS requirements from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) according to IBAC.

William “Bill” Borgsmiller, President of ACI Jet notes “ACI Jet is no stranger to the highest levels of safety in the industry. With our roots in part 135 charter and management, we’ve held numerous safety ratings for years, including IS-BAO, which may be likened to an IS-BAH sister-certification offered by IBAC for aircraft charter companies.” Specifically, ACI Jet is an IS-BAO Stage II operator, and holds both ARG/US Platinum and Wyvern Wingman safety credentials. While recognizing the path to IS-BAH certification is not easy, Borgsmiller says the fundamentals are already in place at ACI Jet. “By virtue of being an IS-BAO certified charter company with worldwide operating authority, the foundational aspects of IS-BAH for our FBOs are already in place. We have a robust SMS [Safety Management System] in place cross-departmentally. We use the NATA Safety 1st Training Program and are NATA Safety 1st Certified.”

Andrew Robillard, Vice President, FBO and Facilities of ACI Jet echoes Borgsmiller’s enthusiasm for IS-BAH. Says Robillard, “It is in our culture that we pioneer a new level of safety in our industry. Consistent with that vision, we see IS-BAH as a long-term investment in ourselves and our customers.” Robillard, who oversees all FBO locations for ACI Jet, will lead the FBO’s IS-BAH implementation efforts.
